Client Case Study - Statistical Consultancy for Unica

Unica Global, a nutrition company specialising in goat milk–based products, develops innovative solutions for infant nutrition. One of their products, Jovie, is a whole goat milk infant formula currently available across Europe and the Middle East.

As Unica is in the process of obtaining FDA authorisation to market Jovie in the United States, the company has engaged OCS Life Sciences for statistical consultancy and programming support.

OCS Life Sciences performs SAS®-based analyses to support Unica’s FDA submission. The team designs suitable statistical models, develops and validates ADaM datasets, prepares metadata documentation, and produces the required tables and listings in line with both Unica’s and FDA’s specifications. OCS also supports Unica in interpreting statistical outputs and ensuring the results are communicated clearly to regulatory authorities.

This close collaboration is characterised by efficient alignment, quick decision-making and a shared focus on meeting timelines and objectives. This approach helps both teams maintain progress and quality throughout the project.

“What we really appreciate about working with OCS Life Sciences are the short lines of communication, the consistent team, and their flexibility. They’re able to move quickly and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines, which is crucial for FDA submissions.”

                         - Ingeborg Nijsten, Project Manager R&D

OCS Life Sciences at PHUSE EU Connect 2025: Let’s meet in Hamburg!

We are excited to announce our participation in PHUSE EU Connect 2025 in Hamburg! Our team — Jules van der Zalm, Melanie Schopp, Emmy Pahmer, Luis Andre Soriano, and Lieke Gijsbers — are looking forward to engaging with the data science and statistical programming community.

We will be presenting on three topics:

  • %batchrunprograms: SAS® Studio Background Submit on Multiple Programs
Discover how %batchrunprograms lets you run multiple SAS Studio programs independently and reliably, with built-in error handling and batch summaries - making complex workflows simple.
    Author: Luis Soriano

  • Enhancing Clinical Trial Management with Automated Data Integration and Real-Time Analytics
This presentation shows how we integrated clinical and operational data in SAS LSAF to enable daily, cross-study and cross-vendor analytics, delivering real-time insights into study progress, vendor performance, and protocol compliance.
Authors: Emmy Pahmer and Katrijn Op De Beeck (argenx)
  • Smarter SAS® logging—with a macro AI hasn’t mastered (yet)
Discover a SAS macro that automatically logs macro names and parameter values, simplifying debugging and eliminating tedious manual logging - a tool AI can’t replicate (yet)!
    Author: Jules van der Zalm

We would love to connect with you during the event — whether to discuss our presentations, explore collaboration opportunities, or simply meet the team. Schedule a meeting and let’s make the most of PHUSE EU Connect 2025 together. See you in Hamburg!

SAS® in a Docker Container: Fast, Modern, and Low-Maintenance

Running SAS in a Docker container provides a modern, streamlined alternative to traditional desktop installations. It’s quick to deploy, easy to keep up to date, and ideal for development or test environments.

Containerisation ensures a consistent, clean setup every time. Perfect for teams aiming to work more efficiently without unnecessary overhead. If desired, we can offer this as part of a light managed service contract, giving you peace of mind with the latest version and ongoing expert support.

Join us at the PSDM Networking Event 2025 in Leiden

The PSDM (Pharmaceutical Statistics and Data Management) is a Dutch network group of statisticians, clinical programmers and data managers working in and for the pharmaceutical industry.

On Tuesday 25th November the next PSDM Networking Event takes place at the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) in Leiden. There will be presentations on topics such as Risk-based Monitoring, Integrated Summary of Safety and the use of LLMs. Of course there will be plenty of time to network.

Our colleagues Caro SluijterJules van der ZalmLieke Gijsbers and Melanie Schopp will attend this event as well and they hope to meet many of you.

Lieke Gijsbers will present on “CDISC-Compliant ISS Submission: A Use Case”, sharing insights into efficient data integration, regulatory compliance, and best practices for submission-ready datasets.

Register now to join us for an engaging afternoon of presentations, discussions, and networking.
